New online course: Nature and Nurture: The Sustainable Benefits of All-Glass Operable Double-Wall Systems.

Credits: 1.00 HSW/SD , 1 GBCI CE Hour(s)

NanaWall® is considered the expert in folding and sliding wall systems, with over 20 years of experience providing a niche product to the design professional. NanaWall® believes education within our industry is very important and currently offers three AIA/CES continuing education classes:

A free AIA Continuing Education Class is available online, at the Ron Blank Website. The online course, titled "Daylighting Design and Large Opening Glass Walls," allows you to graduate with one AIA/CES LU/HSW/SD and one GBCI CE. Ron Blank will automatically process your course credits through the AIA transcript office.

Learning objectives for the Daylighting Design and Large Opening Glass Walls online course are as follows:

  • Explain the importance of daylighting in design and list several daylighting design strategies
  • Describe large opening glass walls and list the design options to consider when including opening glass walls in your design
  • List the environmental benefits of large opening glass walls and explain the improved indoor occupant health benefits as well
  • Describe several case studies and explain how these projects benefited from large opening glass walls including energy efficiency, connection to the outdoor environment and open day lit spaces

Upon request, we can arrange for your local NanaWall® representative to come to your office or your local AIA chapter, and provide an onsite AIA approved lunch & learn seminar. Two courses are available, titled "Sustainable Solutions for Large Openings," and "Optimizing Sustainability with All Glass Operable Wall Systems." You will receive one SD/HSW credit for each course. AIA membership numbers are required to receive an AIA credit. Certificates of completion are also available upon request.

Learning objectives for the Sustainable Solutions for Large Openings course are as follows:

  • Familiarize architects with the definitions, capabilities, and usages of large moveable glass wall systems
  • Illustrate how large operable glass walls can be an integral part of GREEN/sustainable design both in form and function
  • Provide answers on how large operable glass walls can improve the health, safety and welfare of building occupants
  • Demonstrate new and innovative ideas to take into the design process for schools, hospitals, and other commercial applications, and to help you through that process

Learning objectives for the" Optimizing Sustainability with All Glass Operable Systems" course are as follows:

  • Familiarize architects with the capabilities and usages of all glass operable wall systems
  • Explain how all glass operable wall systems can be an integral part of GREEN/sustainable design in both form and function
  • Provide answers on how all glass operable wall systems can improve the health, safety, and welfare of building occupants
  • Demonstrate new and innovative ideas to take into the design process for multi and single family housing, hospitals, office space, and other commercial applications
