Functions
Folding or Sliding
NanaWall® offer two main ways to create large openings: NanaWall® Folding Systems and NanaWall® Individual Panel Sliding Systems.
Each system was designed to solve specific opening problems and was designed to fill a particular need. The main difference between Folding and Individual Panel Sliding Systems is that Folding Systems constist of panels hinged together in a train. When open, the panels remain 90 degrees to the track. With Individual Panel Sliding Systems, each panel is supported by two carriers and is moved independently into position. When open, the panels can be stacked outside the plane of the opening.
The main benefits of NanaWall® Folding Systems are:
- All structural loads are within the plane of the opening. No auxiliary track or support is needed.
- Both top hung and floor mounted systems are available.
The main benefits of NanaWall® Individual Panel Sliding Systems are:
- There is no limit as to the width of the wall opening. The total number of panels is restricted only by structural steel constraints. And even if there are structural posts, tracks can be laid to the inside or outside of the posts to allow sliding beyond the posts.
- Complex track layouts with angle changes and curves are possible, with angles between 0 degrees and 90 degrees between flat panels.
- In non-weathertight applications, the floor track can be ommitted altogether, making a seamless transition from one side to the other possible. Please check out the Performance and Sill Options section to learn more about NanaWall® Sills.
- Panels can be stored completely out of sight, in a wall pocket if desired.
