All About Sills—CERO

By NanaWall Systems, August 15, 2017

There are many considerations when choosing the right sliding glass wall system for your project. Here at NanaWall, we are known for our superior engineering and attention to detail; a close look at cero, our minimal framed large panel sliding glass wall, demonstrates this perfectly.

For starters, no other product on the market offers as many different sill options as we do. In order to make our minimal framed glass wall infinitely customizable, we offer four distinct sill types.

The importance of an opening glass wall’s sills (in conjunction with the panel’s rollers) cannot be overstated as they are one of the largest contributing factors to this type of product’s durability and overall functionality over time.

Available sills are as follows:

  1. High Weather Performance Sill
  • Available with both our double (cero II) and triple glazed panels (cero III)
  • Features stainless steel track to prevent corrosion
  • Track sits above the water table
  • Drainage provided via an engineered, cascading water management system; water can be wept to the face of the panel or down below
  • Allows for up to 1/8” (3 mm) adjustability to compensate for potential future building movement; protects the product’s long-term effortless sliding operation
  • Optional ADA compliant insert offered for commercial installations
  1. Flush Sill (available with cero II only)
  • Lies flush against surrounding floor, virtually disappearing
  • Designed for use in protected areas or interior applications
  • Fully recessed at 7/8” (23 mm) into the floor
  • ADA compliant
  1. Low Profile Saddle Sill (available with cero II only)
  • Recessed at an even shallower 7/16” (11 mm)
  • Designed for use in protected areas or interior applications
  • Reduces sheeting rain from entering the interior
  • ADA compliant
  1. Low Profile Saddle Hybrid Sill (available with cero II only)
  • Recessed at 7/16” (11 mm)
  • Designed for use in protected areas or interior applications
  • Designed to work with varying interior and exterior finish floor heights
  • Reduces sheeting rain from entering the interior
  • ADA compliant

The shallowness of the Flush, Low Profile Saddle, and Flush Saddle Hybrid sills make them particularly well-suited to American construction and retrofits. For the true aesthete, inserts (wood, concrete, tile, etc.) can be installed between the tracks to match the surrounding floor, rendering the tracks themselves practically invisible. Surface mounted installations are possible depending on the type of flooring and design considerations.

All sills for this product are strong enough to withstand the weight of a moving vehicle – so whether your project is residential, commercial, or somewhere in between – rest assured, our sills are tough enough to handle it.

Cero: because superior customization makes for seamless integration and long-term precision operation.
