LINEN + LEATHER

I’ve been known to harbor a textile crush or two. Linen plus leather is one of my favorite classic combos. Here we mixed linen and leather pillows on a bed as part of a collected coastal look.

ART WALLS

I love when we have opportunities to turn a whole wall, floor to ceiling, into art. There are many different ways to do this, but we recently added a variety of handmade wallcoverings to our design library that are just so gorgeous. Art walls like this work well in powder rooms, on bed walls, and anywhere we find within a home’s architecture that just calls for something really unexpected and exquisite.

MIXED CABINETRY STYLES

Mixed cabinetry styles and finishes help break up a large kitchen in a more furniture-like way. Large expanses of all-matching cabinets can be heavy and break up a home’s flow. For this St. Armands Key home’s open kitchen, we selected two cabinetry finishes with two different door profiles. One finish matches the new whitewashed oak flooring we installed throughout, and the other is a soft white.

NANAWALL

NanaWall and systems like it offer full glass walls that open and fold flat, and are pretty much the ultimate in seamless indoor/outdoor living. Indoor rooms can become outdoor rooms on demand, views and breezes can flow without interruption, and entertaining space increases.

CEILING DETAILS

When I travel I always look up, finding new inspiration for ceiling details. Whether an interior is contemporary, traditional or somewhere in between, ceilings should complete the design. In this client’s home at The Oaks, we were inspired by the strong original architecture in designing a showpiece living room ceiling with all white moldings and carvings, cove lighting and fully concealed air conditioning.
