Office Trends: The Most Tech-Forward, Versatile Meeting Space in San Francisco

By , November 2, 2011

The Grand Hyatt hotel in San Francisco just underwent a $70 million renovation, including a complete restoration of the meeting facilities at the hotel. $14 million of their budget was spent on creating the “most tech-forward, versatile meeting space” in San Francisco, and Grand Hyatt chose NanaWall for their project. The use of operable glass panels creates a highly adaptable floor plan that can be easily re-configured based on changing activities and requirements. With the flexible new meeting spaces at Grand Hyatt, this luxury hotel in SF is ideal for group meetings, events and corporate travel. No other facility in San Francisco compares for hosting large and small events. Floorplans that isolate are out – openness is in. The multi-use facilities at the Grand Hyatt create an open floor plan, with the flexibility to accommodate groups of different sizes, ranging from 12 to 1,000. Doesn’t matter whether it is a corporate gathering or a large social function, a staff meeting or a sit-down dinner, chances are they will have the perfect space. The total renovated conference facility includes the Grand Ballroom: a large, modern ballroom that can hold up to 48 display booths, a theater-style presentation for 1,000 or a gala for more than 600 guests. Adjacent to the Grand Ballroom, the Grand Foyer has 5,700 square feet of flexible meeting space and accommodates both large and small groups for meetings and/or food. The separate meeting rooms, named after Northern American trees, like Cypress, Sequoia and Redwood, are created with NanaWalls. Four openings with the HSW65 SingleTrack sliding system enable the space to be flexibly divided, for a more fluid layout. With the NanaWalls open, the space allows for a function of 375 to “meet and eat.” Similar open floor plans can be created in any office, conference room, or event space at resorts and hotels. NanaWall panels create flexible but clearly structured room configurations, ensuring effective space utilization. The NanaWalls serve as soundproof barriers, for excellent sound suppression and privacy, without sacrificing transparency and a free-flowing design.
