Congratulations to the HKS Sports & Entertainment Group, for designing the first LEED Gold certified sports venue in the Unites States! A model for sustainability, Salt River Fields is the most green and innovative spring training facility in baseball. The sports venue leads into the future with LEED elements such as: - Maximum Shade: stadium designed with angles of the sun in mind; monumental roof provides relief from southwestern sun for 85% of fans, without compromising views of surrounding mountains -Replanting Vegetation: more than 85 trees and cacti uprooted and replanted; additional 2,400 native trees planted -Energy Efficiency: Operable windows (i.e. NanaWalls) maximize occupancy lighting and thermal control, for energy savings of 23.5% -More Green, Less Asphalt: 1/3 of parking lots use asphalt, other 2/3 are grass covered and double as playing fields when not in use Kudos to all involved in this project!
The central stadium has an 11,000 seat capacity, with the luxury suite and press areas featuring NanaWall operable glass walls for energy efficiency
Home to the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks, each team has its own office building and training facility, featuring panels of the NanaWall SL45 folding system
