HSW50 - Maximum Frame Size Chart For Different Number of Panels
Note: English dimensions are approximate. (Dimensions in parenthesis are in millimeters)

Diagonal lines: Need horizontal mullion in unit that is more than 12" below the top rail or 12" above the bottom rail.
Lines on chart indicate maximum frame height possible for a given maximum panel width.
Any custom size is possible up to the maximum size shown.
The total number of panels in a unit is only restricted by structural steel considerations.
Generally, the minimum width of each panel is 1'11" (600 mm).
The maximum size limits are based on the weight of a double glazed panel that has a net glass thickness of 5/16" (8 mm). This glass is insulated and each pane is 5/32" (4 mm). For other net glass thickness, this maximum size limit chart will not apply.
For units with sliding panels greater than 8’6" (2600 mm) a shorter incorporated swing panel can be utilized as follows:
1. Area above the incorporated swing panel will be a fixed transom as part of the sliding panel.
2. Maximum height of incorporated swing panel to be 7’2" (2200 mm)
3. Fixed transom to be at least 16" (400 mm) tall.
