SL72, Miami-Dade County Hurricane Approved Folding Aluminum Framed System

Performance

In accordance with Miami Dade County Test Protocols PA 201 (large missile impact), PA 202 (structural pressure, air, water, forced entry), and PA 203 (cyclic pressure), NanaWall Systems has successfully tested and passed the SL72 in both inswing and outswing applications for 52 stacking configurations with both the raised sill and saddle sill. Approval is with both monolithic single hurricane glass and with insulated hurricane glass.

Raised Sill

The SL72 inswing system with a raised sill is approved with Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA No. 07-0625.09. The SL72 outswing system with a raised sill is approved with Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA No. 07-0625.10.

Saddle Sill

The SL72 inswing system with a saddle sill is approved with Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA No. 07-0625.10. The SL72 outswing system with a saddle sill is approved with Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA No. 07-0625.10.

The SL72 System has also received statewide approval in Florida for hurricane resistance, Certificate of Product Approval # FL2947.

Hurricane Performance

In accordance with hurricane resistance specifications for fenestration products developed by AAMA, the American Architectural Manufacturers Association, AAMA 506-06, "Voluntary Specifications for Hurricane Impact and Cycle Testing of Fenestration Products", NanaWall Systems has successfully tested and passed the SL70 insulated hurricane impact glass in both inswing and outswing applications for 52 stacking configurations with both the raised sill and saddle sill. Testing for large missile impact conducted per ASTM E1886 and testing for cyclic pressure conducted per ASTM E1996.

The SL70 System has also received statewide approval in Florida, Certificate of Product Approval # FL6859

NFRC-Approved Thermal Performance / Energy Star

The SL70 inswing and outswing models with raised sills have been rated, certified and labeled in accordance with NFRC 1001. The u value with standard insulated impact glass is .49 and with low-e insulated impact glass is .36.

The system is thermally broken with a 3/4" (18.5mm) polyamide plastic reinforced with glass fibers. This thermal barrier provides increased strength, superior humidity control, improved acoustics, and energy savings.

If ordered with insulated hurricane impact glass, the SL70 provides hurricane protection that meets code and protects your property, whether you are there or not when a hurricane strikes. No need of unattractive and inconvenient to use shutters.
