The project goals included providing savannah-like views of the Chesapeake Bay and opening the interior fully for natural ventilation. The plan also called for thermal insulation when the operable glass walls are closed.

Multiple units of NanaWall SL60 were selected for the project because of its minimal sightlines and its ability to thrive in a tough Northeast climate. Folding door connect the mountain terrain with the inside of the home, even when the doors are closed.
